Job Summary:
An Industrial Engineer I conducts constraint analysis and capacity planning initiatives along with supporting and executing plans to design and implement improvements to manufacturing layouts, equipment, tools, workforce plans, technology and solutions to ensure capacity meets demands.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with one (1) year of experience in the same or similar role. We will accept as equivalent a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent plus two (2) years of related experience.
- Experience to include 1 year using solid modelling software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools through experience, undergraduate or graduate coursework, or Lean certification.
Job Duties:
- Conducts constraint analysis and capacity planning initiatives; supports and executes plans to design and implement improvements to manufacturing layouts, equipment, tools, workforce plans, technology and solutions to ensure capacity meets demands.
- Leads large, complex projects of substantial impact to organization as needed.
- Increases the effectiveness and efficiency of production processes through identifying wastes and recommends adjustments to the production process to obtain the desired quality or productivity.
- Key stakeholder in new product development process with emphasis on design for manufacturability on the front end, seamless launch, and ownership on the back end in the areas of labor standards, layouts, and flow.
- Assesses feasibility of new manufacturing processes; creates and implements recommendations to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
- Routinely makes decisions to resolve manufacturing problems to meet safety, design, quality, delivery, and costs expectations.
